MR.  CHITO R.  PERALTA,
SEATS AS THE NEW GM OF AKELCO

Mr. Chito Peralta  The Aklan Electric Cooperative, Inc would like to inform all our valued member-consumers that effective today, March 10, 2008, Mr. Chito R. Peralta is our new appointed General Manager.
On March 5, 2008, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) confirmed the AKELCO Board Resolution no. 16, series of 2008-03-03 appointing Mr. Chito R. Peralta as the General Manager of AKELCO.
NEA conducted the selection process of hiring the new General Manager of AKELCO and came up with two qualified applicants after a background investigation and final interview done by the NEA Board of Administrators. The results of the same were recommended to the AKELCO Board of Directors for final selection and appointment.
 
On the said resolution, AKELCO Board of Directors unanimously appoints Mr. Peralta as the new of General Manager.
Mr. Peralta is the former President of AKELCO Board of Directors from 2002-2005. He took up Bachelor of Science in Commerce and Economics and a native of New Washington Aklan.

PRESS RELEASE

We would like to inform all our valued member-consumers that effective February 2008, the National Power Corporation/TRANSCO will have an additional charge that will be passed-on to all consumers on its monthly billing.This is in connection with Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) decision dated December 7, 2007 directing Transco to apply the approved Connection and Residual transmission charges for 2007 starting calendar year 2008.The increase will be implemented to all electric cooperatives that availed of their power delivery services, as mandated by the EPIRA Law and the Open Access Transmission Services (OATS) of 2006.The following are the rates for the month of February for all types of consumers including the above-stated pass-on charges of NPC/TRANSCO.

 

RESIDENTIAL: P 7.84 / per kilowatt-hour    
COMMERCIAL:   P 6. 61 / per kilowatt-hour   
INDUSTRIAL: P 6.50 / per kilowatt-hour   
PUBLIC BUILDING:   P 7.03 / per kilowatt-hour 
STREET LIGHTS:  P11.49 / per kilowatt-hour
